Rick Blumenthal
Rick trained at the Germain School of Photography in New York City, the Philadelphia College of Art as
well as the U.S. Naval School of Photography. While serving in the military he worked as a still photographer
and motion picture cameraman, shooting a wide range of work from portraits to industrial training films.
He was a stringer for United Press International and a camerman for ABC News.
He continued in photography and television production on the east coast until relocating to
Los Angeles where he worked in Hollywood as a Producer and Director's Guild production manager
for Warner Brothers, Paramount, Sony and numerous other film and television companies.
His extensive experience in the entertainment industry and passion for the performing arts adds much
to his sensitivity in producing the highest quality photography for the working performer.
He shoots exclusively in a studio environment, where he maintains complete control over the quality
of images produced and works only with state-of-the-art photographic equipment, shooting in a
high-resolution, digital full-frame format. Our studio has an inventory of over a dozen varied backgrounds
to further enhance the images.
He has perfected The Image Room's "wall of light", a lighting system that insures the softest light
for the most becoming results possible.
Rick is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and Professional Photographers
of California, both professional trade associations where the newest innovations and techniques
are explored along with continuing educational programs. He attended the West Coast School in
San Diego where he studied "glamour photography" with PPA master photographer Tim Meyer.
